Before installing, ensure your subframe is properly constructed, level and built from suitable treated timber or compatible composite joists. Joist spacing should follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for composite decking, typically no more than the recommended centres.

Lay the Co-Extrusion Duo boards with adequate expansion gaps at the ends and sides, allowing for thermal movement. Decide which face you wish to show – Teak or Walnut – and keep the orientation consistent across the deck unless you are intentionally creating a pattern.

Most installations use hidden fixing clips to secure boards to the joists. Start by fixing a starter clip along the first joist line, then slot the first board into place. Insert standard clips along each joist, tightening them enough to hold the board while allowing for a small gap between boards. Repeat this process across the deck, checking alignment as you go.

At the outer edges, finish the deck with appropriate trims or fascia boards to conceal cut ends and give a neat perimeter. Once all boards are installed, clean the surface to remove any dust or installation debris. Your new composite deck will then be ready to enjoy with significantly less maintenance than traditional timber.
